Bio

Ms. Lagomasino-Bell is a creative problem solver, aspiring sailor, and researcher with a passion for innovation. After spending seven years as a patent examiner, she sought to connect more directly with the hands-on aspects of scientific discovery. She joined the Coasts and Oceans Observing Laboratory in 2014, where she contributes to field, laboratory, and research work focused on understanding coastal processes.

Specializing in the geochemical analysis of marine sediment, Ms. Lagomasino-Bell’s expertise includes measuring soil bulk density, loss on ignition, advanced spectroscopy techniques (alpha and gamma). These processes reveal insights into coastal change over time.
